Breast Cancer Care WA
We were asked by Breast Cancer Care WA to produce a video for their annual Long Table Lunch. The brief was to maintain the awareness of BCCWA’s support to their clients and the BCCWA message without it being emotionally negative. We were fortunate enough to meet three amazing ladies who were incredibly brave to share their stories with us.
The Celebration of Women Long Table Lunch was established by Faith Nichols of Comestibles in 2004 to commemorate the life of Pippin Bath, a prominent member of the Perth catering industry who lost her battle with breast cancer at only 37 years of age.
11 years later, it is Breast Cancer Care WA’s signature fundraising event where the food is a work of art delivered by top WA chefs, the produce of the highest quality and the company second to none. It is a day to be fabulous, indulge with friends and join us in taking a moment to support those on a breast cancer journey.
The luncheon epitomises the spirit, generosity and giving of the WA community as every item; from the marquee and furniture down to the butter and teaspoons, is donated to ensure that every dollar raised goes directly to help support Western Australians with breast cancer.
Solo Films has always been keen to assist the BCCWA team whenever possible. So when we were asked to create a video for the 2014 Long Table Lunch, we jumped at the chance. Our idea was to get three ladies, all whom are going through their own various stages of breast cancer, and seat them around a table and openly discuss their breast cancer journey. Titled “Learning To Dance In The Rain”, we were able to capture three very individual and candid stories.
